Solenoid

The solenoid is used to convert electrical energy into kinetic energy in the form of linear motion.

Key points:

• The plunger of the solenoid is fully retracted once there is a voltage of at least 2.8 V across it.
• In PCB 3D spaces , the solenoid appears in both the 2D and 3D views. The 2D view can be connected to electronic parts; the 3D view can be connected to the following mechanical parts using rods:
  • The microswitch
  • The rack and pinion
